Whenever you're shopping for new appliances, electronics or equipment for your home, look for the ENERGY STAR^® label. ENERGY STAR^® certified products use less energy than standard models while still delivering the same level of performance.

Energy-efficient light bulbs

LED bulbs are at least 75 percent more efficient than conventional incandescents and last much longer. LEDs are also dimmable and provide warm, high-quality light.

Low-flow fixtures

The average household uses 300 gallons of water per day! You can reduce your energy costs substantially by using less hot water. Water-efficient showerheads and faucet aerators typically cost less than $20 and only take a few minutes to install.

Pipe insulation

Insulating your hot water pipes will reduce heat loss and increase the water temperature as much as 4°F, allowing you to save energy by lowering the temperature setting. Pipe insulation sleeves are simple to install and often cost less than $15.

Programmable thermostats

A programmable thermostat automatically adjusts household temperatures based on your schedule, optimizing savings, comfort and convenience. Newer WiFi and 'smart' models provide advanced features, such as remote control and self-programming.
