You Can Read an EnergyGuide Label

Big yellow EnergyGuide labels come with many new appliances. At a glance, you can learn how much energy an appliance will use in a year, as well as an estimated annual cost.

It's set on a scale that shows how it compares with similar appliances. More efficient models fall on the left side of the scale, and less efficient models to the right.

If an appliance meets very high efficiency standards, you'll see the ENERGY STAR^® logo on the label.
